SRINAGAR: The Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri on Thursday reviewed the status of different projects executed by Lake Conservation and Management Authority (LCMA) for In-Situ eco-development of six hamlets in Dal Lake by way of providing sewerage system and construction of STP inside Dal Lake in a meeting, here.

These hamlets include Kachri Mohalla, Sofi Mohalla, Tinda Mohalla, Mir Mohalla, Golden Lake Estate Karpora and Kani Mohalla.

The meeting was attended by VC, LCMA and officers & Engineers of LCMA.

At the outset, an overview of the model was presented to show the final look and transformation of the villages.

It was given that about 60% of the works of eco-development of the Kachri Mohalla has been completed for the total allotted cost of Rs.179.51 lacs for which the Technical Sanction was accorded on July 28, 2023 by Chief Engineer UEED.

The works include walkways, Gazebo, Viewing Deck, kiker Pilling, Eco Parks, Drudging, RCC Block Works, HDEP Floating Platform, Ghat, and Culvert and Fishing Points.

Besides, the meeting was informed that about 85% of the work of sewer networking of all the six Hamlets by way of construction, testing and commissioning of sewer network has been completed for the allotted cost of Rs.254.21 lacs for which the technical sanction was accorded on Oct 17, 2023 by Chief Engineer UEED.

Moreover, it was given that the work of two Modular STPs costing  Rs.590 lacs having Capacity 100 KLD each By MBR Technology will be allotted soon for which the tenders have already been floated by the J&K LCMA Authority.

After reviewing the physical status of projects, Div Com set a deadline for the completion of these projects by the end of December, 2023.

He enjoined on the concerned to add the lighting component for illumination of Gazebos, Viewing decks, jetties, walkways and other utilities.

He also emphasized on the door to door collection of waste for proper disposal for the conservation of the lake.

The meeting also deliberated over the operation of musical, cluster and high jet fountains besides operation of water transport service.
