Police arrests two drug peddlers in Anantnag
Srinagar: Police arrested two drug peddlers in Anantnag and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesman said Monday.
He said that police received an information through reliable sources that one Sadeeq Khan son of Mohammad Hussain Khan resident of Satri Maidan Gopalpora Mattan has indulged in drug peddling and has hoarded large quantity of narcotic substance in his residential house. Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Mattan and investigation was taken up.
On receipt of this information, a search team raided the said house. During search of the house, about 11.5Kgs of Charas Powder was recovered and accused was arrested. Further investigation in the instant case is going on.
Moreover, another police party arrested one drug peddler identified as Javid Ahmed Dar son of Ghulam Hassan Dar resident of Tulkhan Bijbehara along with 10 Codeine Phosphate bottles. In this regard, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Bijbehara and investigation was taken up.
