Overload at DH Pulwama: Few non-emergency services shifted to Prichoo
Pulwama: In order to decongest, district hospital Pulwama, few non emergency services have been shifted to Prichoo Pulwama, officials said Wednesday.
A health official said that said that there is heavy rush of patients at district hospital Pulwama where 1500-2000 patients visit the health facility on daily basis.
He said that a building used during Covid-19 was available at Prichoo and in order to make full use of it and decongest the district hospital few services have been shifted to Prichoo.
He added that as of now Psychiatry, Mental health, Addiction Treatment Facility and Dental Section have been shifted there and few more sections are being shifted in coming days.
The official said that dermatology is being shifted very soon while shifting of Opthalmology will take some time as it requires setting up an OT there.
“We have all the facilities including CT scan available at Prichoo and patients visiting there will get better services,” he said.
He said that shifting of these sections will definitely help in decongesting district hospital that is witnessing huge rush of patients.
Notably, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Pulwama, Dr Basharat Qayoom had recently visited Prichoo where he directed authorities to immediately put into use the created infrastructure to further enhance the medical services in the district.
