Dagger Women Warriors observe Int’l Day of Elimination of Violence against Women
Baramulla: In a powerful display of solidarity and advocacy, Dagger Women Warriors took the helm in commemorating the International Day of Elimination of Violence Against Women to be celebrated on 25 Nov every year.
The event, held at Govt Medical College, Baramulla on 22 Nov 23 with unwavering determination, aimed to raise awareness and drive action against the pervasive issue of gender-based violence.
Led by a cohort of dedicated women officers, the event was a poignant reminder of the challenges women face globally. Through poignant speeches, interactive discussions by the organisers, attendees were sensitized to the urgency of addressing this pressing issue.
Advocate Sabreen of One Stop Centre, Baramulla, a keynote speaker, emphasized the importance of empowering survivors and breaking societal barriers perpetuating violence. “It’s imperative to unite and foster a safe environment where every woman feels secure and respected,” she remarked.
A symbolic candlelight vigil marked the conclusion of the event, honoring victims and survivors while reiterating the commitment to stamping out violence against women.
