B2V-5: Panchayats in Bandipora abuzz with vibrant activities

First Phase culminates in 50 panchayat halqas

BANDIPORA: The day second of Back to Village-5 (B2V5) programme ended on a high note with a range of activities from sports to development and grievances redressal.

A large number of women also participated in Special Gram Sabhas to discuss developmental issues with all the concerned officers and Visiting officers present in the Sabha.

The women presented their issues and perspective of their development ideas of their villages that were patiently heard by the officers and public representatives.

The visiting officers assessed the developmental activities of the respective panchayats and also took feedback from the public about implementation of different projects.

They also distributed certificates among beneficiaries of various schemes in different departments including artists registered by handicrafts and handloom department, and new cooperatives registered by department of cooperatives.

Land passbooks, Kits, sports kits, Soil health cards, Golden Cards, and other services were also provided in special camps organised on the occasions.

Several sports events were also held in Panchayats. The visiting officers also participated in these activities and distributed awards among the winning teams and players

The visiting officers in all the 50 Panchayats held interaction with PRI representatives and reviewed the progress of the works taken up in earlier phases of Back to Village and visited many developmental sites, offices in order to assess the functioning.

The officers also reviewed the implementation of several welfare schemes including marriage assistance scheme, old age Pension, Education Assistance to labourers and other schemes and cross checked the data available with the locals to verify whether the schemes are being implemented on ground.

During the day long activities, officers of different departments informed the audience about several welfare and employment generation schemes and urged them to avail benefit of these schemes. They also collected feedback about implementation of different schemes especially with regard to non-sanctioning of benefits under individual beneficiary oriented schemes.
