DC Gbl convenes meeting for finalizing modalities of Milk chilling plant

GANDERBAL: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir Monday convened a meeting to finalize the Modalities for running of milk chilling plant at Chountwaliwar.

In order to make the project potentially a viable unit, it was decided that a tri-party agreement shall be made between Animal Husbandry Department Ganderbal, Department of Cooperatives Ganderbal and The Chountwaliwar Milk Producers Dairy Cooperative Society Ltd Chountwaliwar Lar.

The DC directed the concerned that the unit shall be outsourced on cooperative pattern strictly on the terms and conditions under the relevant Cooperative Societies Act 1989 and MoU shall be signed between the Animal Husbandry Department District Ganderbal, Department of Cooperatives District Ganderbal and Chountwaliwar Milk Producers dairy Cooperative Society Ltd Chountwaliwar Lar before handover of the unit (Milk Chilling Plant ) to the Chountwaliwar Milk producers Diary Cooperative Society Ltd Chountwaliwar Lar.

Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Ganderbal was directed to facilitate the establishment of the Milk plant and JKMPCL shall monitor the quality of the products produced.

It was also decided that the necessary training/ technical assistance for operating this milk plant at the initial stage shall be provided by the Animal Husbandry Department.

The Cooperative Society was directed to manage the proper maintenance of the plant and ensure the optimum capacity utilization of the Milk Processing plant in order to fulfill the goals of the project after taking required undertaking from the Managing Body of the said Cooperative Society.

It was also decided that the close monitoring and supervision of the project shall be strictly carried out by the Department of Cooperatives as per the provisions of the Cooperative Societies Act 1989 and the rules made there under and as mandated in the registered bylaws of the society.

Furthermore, the Managing body of the Cooperative Society will take steps to link it with the JKMPCL and to increase the number of its members in order to make an FPO.

The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Assistant Registrar Cooperative Societies Lar, Live stock Development Officer, Ganderbal, Block Vet Officer Kangan, besides Chairman Dairy Cooperative Society Chountwaliwar along with PRls.
