Man dies after trapped under sand in Handwara
Handwara: A 37-year-old man died and another was hospitalised, after the duo came under a sand mound in Shanoo village in Langate Handwara, officials said.
They said that a person identified as Abdul Hamid Sheikh, son of Khazir Mohammad alongwith Shabir Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Nabi Dar came under a sand mound at Watnar Shanoo.
“The locals soon after rescued and took the duo to District Hospital Handwara where Abdul Hamid Sheikh was declared as brought dead on arrival”, they said.
The other person Shabir Ahmad Dar is under treatment, they added.
Confirming the mishap, a police official said that they have taken cognizance of the incident. (GNS)
