Why resort to suicide

As we know that life is the most precious gift that gives us an opportunity to discover the creation and share love and tranquility among others. However, this precious gift has become the soft target of internal as well as external disturbances.
Same is the case with Kashmir. Once upon a time, Kashmir used to be the life-giving elixir. However, it has become the hub of some immoral activities. Suicide is one of them. There was no mention of this some decades ago.
Now it has become a common sight. Suicide means the act of killing oneself intentionally. People kill themselves without mercy and lose the opportunity of rectifying their problems. There are many causes that lead to the suicide attempts in Kashmir. Let’s talk about some of them.
The first is family cause. When a person gets fed up with his family due to regular controversy and abuses, it disturbs his or her mindset and suicide thoughts run in his or her mind. This not only disturbs adults but also takes heavy toll on a child’s mind and the child is unable to focus and leads to suicidal tendencies.
The second is emotional cause. It involves curtain behind relationships and fake attachments. Relationships are common in our generation but our youths think it is an essential part of their lives. If a person gets rejected by someone or loses some beloved, he or she wants to end his or her life.
The third is economic cause. When a person wants to fulfill his dreams or wants to study, the poor conditions of his family don’t allow him or her to achieve his or her goal. And with the passage of time, he chooses the path of suicide.
The fourth is social cause. It includes those orthodox people who always put question mark on new thoughts. If a girl wants to become a doctor, she has to go outside for studies but our society believes that it is unthinkable to let the girl pursue her dream in this way. It breaks the mind and the heart of a girl and she thinks it is better to attempt suicide than live in this conventional society.
However, the fact is that a person doesn’t have any right to kill himself. We should be always hopeful. No religion supports suicide. We should be aware that every problem has its solution and we should try to find out it.
Strict actions should be taken against those parents who destroy the future of their children on different grounds. A person should not get distracted by any kind of emotional blackmailing or any other kind of fake behavior.
The orthodox society should change its mindset. It should understand that everyone is free to live his or her life according to his or her wishes, provided that he or she doesn’t snatch the rights of other people.
