Three notorious drug smugglers booked under PIT NDPS Act in north Kashmir
Srinagar, Oct 20: Acting tough against drug peddlers and to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police booked three most wanted and notorious drug smugglers under PIT NDPS Act in Baramulla and lodged them in Central Jail Kot-balwal Jammu, a police spokesman said Friday.
The three most wanted and notorious drug smugglers identified as Musadiq Afzal Masoodi @ Vicky son of Mohammad Afzal of Pampore Pulwama, Mohammad Shafi Hajam son of Nazir Ahmad of Wanigam Bala and Ghulam Hassan Ganie son of Ghlam Rasool of Trikanjan Boniyar have been booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority. The booked drug smugglers have been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-balwal Jammu.
Notably, many cases are registered against these drug smugglers and were involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Baramulla, Uri, Pattan Boniyar and other areas of District Baramulla. Despite their involvement in many FIR’s they did not mend their activities and were again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth, the spokesman added.
