Police arrests drug peddler in Kulgam
Srinagar: Police arrested a drug peddler in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said Saturday.
He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Asthal Bridge intercepted a suspicious person carrying a nylon bag. He has been identified as Showkat Ahmad Sada son of Abdul Gani Sada resident of Ashthal. During search, 7Kgs of Poppy Straw like contraband substance concealed in nylon bag was recovered. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 173/2023 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Kulgam and investigation has been initiated, the spokesman said.
