Rizwan Ahmad, a local social activist said that due to unknown reasons our post office is currently working from Post office Pulwama due to which locals are facing lot of inconveniences.
He claimed that due to merging of post office Koil with Pulwama, the residents of Koil, Thamban, Talangam and its adjacent areas are receiving consignments very late.
Shabir Ahmad, another local resident said that many people in the area have lost their important documents and other consignments as they were dropped at local shops instead of home delivery.
Even though, the post man or other concerned employee is updating on online portal himself that consignment has been delivered to addressee but no ground concerned person gets the packages days after that and even sometimes not receiving at all, he said .
Locals said that they have brought this issue into the notice of concerned authorities several times but to no avail.
They have sought attention of Deputy Commissioner Pulwama in this regard and demanded that post office branch Koil must resume work from Koil for convenience of thousands of people.
