Kulpora-Reshiepora road lying in dilapidated conditions, allege locals
Pulwama: The residents of Kulpora, Panzgam and Reshipora area of of Awantipora sub division in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district have demanded macadamisation of the vital Kulpora-Reshiepora road which according to them is lying in dilapidated condition.
The residents of the area said that road wasn’t macadamised for last several years due to which its condition has turned from bad to worse.
They said that road is shortest route to national highway and Awantipora town for several village but it has been neglected as of now.
Uzair Ahmad, a local resident said that this vital road from Kulpora-Reshiepora was macadamised few years back and now the road is lying in a dilapidated condition at most of the places giving tough time to locals and commuters.
He said that government must look into the issue as this road is connecting dozens of villages with each other.
Mohammad Shaban, another local resident said that the road needs to widened at several spots as well as two vehicles can’t pass on the road at a time.
The residents said the road has developed potholes at different spots much to the annoyance of the locals who have to travel through the road.
“We were expecting that this road will be macadamised this year but so far no such proposal has been finalized,” they rued.
Despite bringing the issue into the notice of higher ups several times nothing has been done on ground, the locals said.
They even claimed that officials informed them that macadamisation has been sanctioned for the road but it seems that nothing will change for them in near future.
The locals once again requested the administration to look into the matter at an earliest and repair and macadamise the road.
