Pulwama: For the very first time, the residents of Dragad Satoora area in Tral hamlet of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district have experienced road connectivity to the village as a road has finally been constructed connecting the area with rest of the Tral township.

Locals of the area said that the area had no road connectivity and they were suffering in absence of it.

They said that they had to carry goods on their back or horses and were suffering during emergency cases and bad weather conditions.

They said while the people elsewhere were getting modern facilities, they had been suffering immensely and craving for basic facilities like road connectivity for past seven decades.

“The students, children, elderly people and patients used to face hardships on a daily basis,” Basheer Ahmad Khan, a local said.

“Even marriage proposals of prospective brides and grooms were rejected due to absence of a proper road to the village,” he added.

“We had brought this issue into the notice of higher ups dozens of times but till date nothing was done,” the locals said.

“Finally it has been done and hundreds of households have been provided road connectivity,” they said., adding that the move has proved a blessing for the entire locality.

They further added that people of the area are very happy and are hopeful that other facilities will be provided to the area as well.

They thanked Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Dr Basharat Qayoom along DDC member Aripal Manzoor Ahmad Ganie and other officials for fulfilling their long pending demand.
