Various villages in Pulwama demand bus services in their areas

Pulwama: The residents of several villages of Rajpora Tehsil in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district have demanded bus service in their areas.

The residents of Aglar Kandi, Kadipora, Kanigam, Drabgam and its adjacent villages said that government has started bus services in almost every corner of Kashmir but their area has been ignored.

They said in absence of any transport facilities in the area, they are forced to go by foot for around five kilometres to avail transport facility.

Saqib Ahmad, a resident of Aglar said that large number of people from the area including employees and students have to go to Pulwama and Srinagar for jobs or education but in absence of transport services they are facing he difficulties.

He said that patients and elderly people are also suffering in absence of transport services in the area.

The locals said that they have already brought this issue into the notice of concerned authorities who assured them that services will be started after culmination of Amarnath Yatra.

They added that now around one month has passed since yatra has culminated but services are yet to be started.

They requested SRTC authorities and DC Pulwama to look into the matter and take steps so that the area will get transport services and they won’t have to suffer any further.
