Zampathri-Tragpathri road lying in dilapidated condition, locals demand repairs
Shopian:The Zampathri-Tragpqthri road in south Kashmir’s Shopian district is lying in dilapidated condition and as a result the locals have been facing huge inconvenience.
Locals said that Zampathri-Tragpqthri road is very vital as it connects several tribal villages with different areas of the district.
They said that the road wasn’t repaired for long and is now full of potholes and requires immediate attention of authorities.
They said that it developed cracks at several spots and the road is currently lying in dilapidated condition at most of the places as it hasn’t been repaired since last several years.
Gulzar Khatana, a local resident said that roads in far off places have been constructed but our area is being neglected.
“We see politicians only during elections and once elections are over, they never revisit the area,” he said.
Locals said that due to the dilapidated condition of the road, there is no public transport available on the road and people of the area are financially weak and often take patients to hospital on their back in absence of proper road connectivity and lack of transportation facilities.
Due to dilapidated condition of the road, elderly people, students and patients are worst sufferers, they said.
They claimed that despite bringing the issue into the notice of concerned authorities several times nothing has been done on ground
The locals have sought the attention of LG Manoj Sinha, DC Shopian and other officials in this regard.
