Illegal extraction of minerals: Police arrests four persons, seizes four vehicles in Baramulla
Srinagar: Police arrested four persons and seized four vehicles for being involved in illegal extraction and ferrying of minerals in Baramulla, a police spokesman said Thursday.
He said that a police party seized three tractors and arrested three drivers for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Babagund Pattan and Goom Ahmadpora Pattan.
They have been identified as Mohammad Ramzan Wani son of Abdul Jabbar resident of Khore Sherabad, Mohammad Younis Mir son of Abdul Ahad resident of Babagund Pattan and Suhail Abbas Dar son of Nazir Ahmad resident of Goom Ahmadpora Pattan.
Similarly, a police party seized a tipper and arrested its driver identified as Shahnaz Ahmad Mir son of Ghulam Ahmad Mir resident of Kalampora Delina for its involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Darpora Delina.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and investigations have been taken up, the spokesman added.
