Kakapora Pulwama residents demand scheduled water supply
Pulwama: The residents of Kakapora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district have demand scheduled drinking water supply in the area.
The residents of the area said that since last few week they aren’t getting water due to which they are facing lot of inconvenience.
They said that main town Kakapora has been suffering from water crisis since last two-three weeks now due to unknown reasons.
Ghulam Hassan, a local resident said that area wasn’t facing any water crisis but since last few weeks their taps have gone dry.
He said that there is no water available for them for bathing, drinking and other purposes but no steps are being taken in this regard.
Fayaz Ahmad, another local resident said that despite the area getting unscheduled water supply since last few weeks, the authorities have failed in solving the issue.
The locals said that they are to forced to visit nearby areas to get the water required for drinking and other purposes.
They said that this matter was brought into the notice of higher ups several times in last few days but no attention was given towards it.
They requested officials of the Jal Shakti Department and the District Administration to look into the matter at an earliest.
Meanwhile, an official of Jal Shakti department said that level of water at the source which provides potable water to the area is very low.
He said that department is ensuring measures so that regular water supply is restored to the entire belt.
