Grab seven Medals at 3rd Indian Open Amateur National Championship

Sopore: Athletes from north Kashmir’ Baramulla showcased their extraordinary talents and unwavering dedication at the esteemed 3rd Indian Open Amateur National Championship, hosted from August 25th to 27th, 2023, at Tantya Tope Stadium in Bhopal Madhya Pradesh, a statement issued here said.

Representing Team Jammu & Kashmir (J&K), these athletes from District Baramulla secured an impressive collection of 07 medals which including 04 gold, 02 silver, and 01 bronze.

The outstanding performers were Nadiya Nayeem – Gold Medal, Imad Mushtaq – Gold Medal, Haider Mushtaq – Gold Medal, Arsalan Shafiq – Gold Medal, Mizhan Niyaz – Silver Medal, Sahil Ah Khan – Silver Medal and Mohammad Awwab – Bronze Medal

Their remarkable accomplishments are a testament to their skills, determination, and exceptional sportsmanship.

Nadiya Nayeem’s achievement holds special significance as she stands as the sole girl from Jammu & Kashmir to secure the top position. Her ground-breaking victory underscores the rising prominence of women in the sports arena, serving as an inspiration for girls across the region.

“All athletes from District Baramulla, have truly excelled on a national platform. Their medals are a reflection of their dedication and the hard work they’ve put in,” stated Manzoor Ahmad Dar, District Secretary and Chief of Shah-e-Hamdan Sports Academy Sopore.

District Baramulla’s athletes have not only showcased their prowess but have also brought attention to the robust sports culture thriving in the region. Their accomplishments highlight their potential and serve as a motivation for the local youth to embrace sports as a path to success.

As the district revels in this moment of glory, the focus now turns to nurturing and fostering the talent of young athletes, ensuring that the legacy of success continues to grow, Said Manzoor Ahmad Dar.

One among the young athlete Arsalan Shafiq said that he had a dream with an expectation that he will win a gold medal in this sports category, he said that he had put all his efforts and hardwork to achieve this goal, added that this achievement is succession of our coaches under whom we were learn about the sport of Mix martial art (MMA)
