J&K Yateem Foundation organizes seminar

Srinagar: J&K Yateem Foundation in collaborating with Government Degree college Kupwara organised a seminar at Degree College Kupwara on ‘Social Evils and Our Responsibilities’.

Several speakers shared their concerns about the growing issue of drug addiction among youngsters and appealed for concrete measures to control this menace, a statement issued by the organization said.

The speakers expressed their deep concern over the increasing number of young people falling prey to drug addiction, which can greatly harm their health and wellbeing. They highlighted the importance of educating youngsters about the dangers of drug addiction and urged parents and teachers to take more responsibility in guiding the youth towards making better life choices.

Chief guest, ADDC Kupwara Altaf Ahmad Khancalled for greater efforts to curb drug trafficking and ensure that those responsible for supplying drugs are held accountable for their actions.

They emphasized the need for collaboration between the government, NGOs, and civil society to create a comprehensive approach to tackling drug addiction.

Guest of honour principal Government Degree College Kupwara, Mohammad Shafi Lone in his speech urged the students to develop positive outlook and to develop good habits for a prosperous future.

Ex chairman J&K Yateem Foundation Mohammad Ahsan Rather presented vote of thanks. He gave the detailed account of the welfare programmes carried ou by the organisation.

The seminar concluded with a call to action for all stakeholders to work together to address this issue and promote a healthy and drug-free lifestyle. It is hoped that the insights gained from this event will lead to positive change and encourage greater awareness and action on this important issue. Dr Ali Mohammad Dar and Dr Shazia Lone were the special guests on the occasion.
