Poem: I Cried
By: Shahid Showkat (Darvish)
I told the story of separation in the party and cried
River of tears flowed down without will and I cried.
If I didn’t cry, what else would I do?
That was a time of mourning, I loudly cried
That unfaithful person would have not wept, after betraying me
But my broken heart hugged her picture and cried
My heart’s desire was to get her, so I began to pray
There I bowed my head in prostration and cried
I was not familiar with loneliness in this endless life
But, Today because of loneliness, I banged my head against the wall and cried
Neither when there was hope, nor that moisture of Iqbal (RA)
So after erasing her from my heart, I cried
As soon as the coffin heard this conversation, Darvish
So he took me in his arms and cried
