D&FCO Kashmir conducts special sampling drive of Milk Vendors

SRINAGAR: on the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Food Safety Kashmir Division, the Drugs & Food Control Organization (D&FCO) Kashmir Saturday carried out a special sampling drive of Milk Vendors for detection of adulteration and compliance to the notified standards at 90 Feet Area, Zone-III Srinagar.

During the drive 20 Milk Vendors were checked and 12 samples of loose/raw cow’s milk were lifted and sent to analysis for checking of quality and safety parameters.

On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner, Food Safety, Kashmir, Shagoofa Jalal reiterated that strict action as warranted under Food Safety Standards Act shall be taken against the defaulters who are found supplying Sub- standard milk to the consumers.

She said that such surprise drives shall continue for the milk commodity as it has highest chances of adulteration and it also constitutes an important part of the daily consumption by the consumers.
