Dodamarg Tral high school faces shortage of staff, allege locals
Pulwama: A high school in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district is facing shortage of staff which is causing a concern among the students and parents alike, local alleged Tuesday.
The locals from Dodamarg Tral said that in 2018 the school was upgraded to high school but the institution continues to face shortage of staff since then.
They said that there are over 150 students enrolled in the school but there are just six teachers to teach students studying in 11 classes.
They added that the post of the headmaster is also lying vacant since long and no attention is being provided to get the posts filled.
Shabir Ahmad, a local resident said the annual results of the school since 2018 have remained average or below average due to the shortage of staff.
He said that teachers posted here are trying their level best but a handful of teachers cannot do justice to teach over 150 students.
Locals said that mostly poor students are studying there and no attention is being given towards the school by the authorities of school education department.
They said that the issue has been brought into their notice umpteen times but nothing is being done to address the problems.
Meanwhile, when contacted an official of the department said that they have brought this issue into the notice of higher ups recently who assured that the school will get more teachers within two weeks.
