How to be Happy?

By: Afreen Manzoor
Happiness can be regarded as one of the most precious emotion and great instinct that a person could feel. Being happy comes from within, when one feels satisfied having peace in life, being accommodative with the things that are happening in life and that accommodation and submission being adjustable which won’t affect man’s body, mind and soul; these virtues can lead us to be feeling happy and sound.
Happiness gets with it a calm and a sweet smile on an individual. Being happy from within lets an individual to be himself/herself and shed’s off all negativity around.
Problems come in every second person’s life but that does not mean that one has to deal with life in a docile manner being rigid and having a docile approach. All such problems can be solved and overcome by an individual having a positive approach with positive environment around.
We also need to stick to and hope-being hopeful will never let an individual feel let down in life and also having a support system be it family/ well wisher/ friend who would listen to that person with no judgments, hears him out having no quarrels, no discrimination with no unruly behavior.
The Importance of happiness in life cannot be negated by any means. It’s actually a feeling which one feels when one is living joyful and enjoying merry moments. A person feels happy and contented in life when he accomplishes something realistic having materialistic means or something/ some deed of inner solitude.
Actually happiness in true sense comes from inner joy and satisfaction. It spreads positivity and cheers all around. One cannot learn happiness, its an emotion, an intrinsic attitude and a virtue which one encompasses through experience and exposure.
Everyone has different things that can make them feel delighted, joyous and blissful. No one can steel happiness; it’s something that stays within but shows its grace on the face of a person which shines and smiles extraordinarily.
We have but just one life to live. One should live every chance out of it with fulfilling every opportunity that comes out of it. As I write these lines and if you would ask me, what does happiness mean to me?
My simple and plain sailing answer would be having a gratified and rapturous life with no chaos, greed, gossips, negativity, sad and joyless events taking ahead. Basically, what I want from my life is to live in a satisfied manner with me having inner peace and a prior career goal and a definite path to reach there.
For me happiness definitely means to be myself- being extraordinarily selfless in my own zone having my personal space to do stuff which I like the most for that matter. Being able to express and present my viewpoints, having a competitive environment, pushing myself to do better, learning new things, being strong headed and great observer.
Being happy does not mean people like you to be aroundyou or let’s say around the world. Every person has a different story to tell. Say in a room of 100 people, one could find 100 different opinions and expressions to present their viewpoint. So, as a person if you would ask me, What makes me happy?
My light-hearted response would be having a calm, composed and soothing day with no quarrels, screaming, fights, having completed my daily to do list and yes! Going for walks, light and calm atmosphere at home and open choice to do things without any hindrance, long drives, shopping uninterruptedly, going on trips to make me feel overwhelmed and joyous.
Now, comes another issue and that is How to remain happy?
I feel that being happy is only possible when one would be having positive environment around…..but yes, life that’s supposed to be a roller coaster ride is full of up’s and downs, one should be strong headed trying not to let negativity bother oneself, doing what makes one feel delighted, happy and trying to find out things that comes in your mind which are righteous and make you feel good should do that.
There’s one thing as well, one should not be dependent on any other person be it financially, psychologically, socially, culturally or emotionally. One should be a free spirit. Being a literate person, one would be having opinions and ideas and those ideas should be only presented there, where it would be needed and understood as it’s a well known proverb that ‘Grass seems Greener on the other side’.
Happiness indeed is a great virtue as if a person is happy that means he would be satisfied in life and has targets set in life. When a person would be happy, that means he would be in a stable condition, he would not let negativity bother him as he/she would be physically and emotionally fit. To reach a point in life, a healthy balance is required. For accomplishment of goal, one should be having a hobby; one has to find a dream and a dream path to achieve it.
Most importantly, one should always count blessings as God is always with those who are happy in whatever they are having. Hard work to do better is different and satisfaction in what you are having is different.
One should always wear confidence with encompassing smile and cheers for the rest as you are the one and only who could stand for yourself and can unleash a better version of yourself. I would like to conclude by writing few lines that would sum up the whole idea:
A healthy free mind and soul leads to a blissful life
A happy soul with a cheerful smile can marvalize the scene,
A busy overburdened mind would lead to a passive body and dizzy life
A positive approach can lead to a vibrant end.
