Army’s ‘dagger women warriors’ organizes seminar on women empowerment
Srinagar: Keeping its commitment and resolve to empower local women, the Dagger Division hosted a transformative seminar at Govt Degree College for Women, Baramullaon 10th Aug 23. The event showcased diverse array of opportunities available tothe young girls and encouraged them to explore new horizons and break down barriers in the workforce.
The Chief Guest for the seminar was Mrs Paramjeet Sethi, who herself has a unique distinction of being from the pioneer batch of lady officers of the Indian Army. During her talk she encouraged the local girls to come forward, face the challenges of outside world and lead a contented and fulfilled life.
The girls from the Government Degree College had the opportunity to hear from Uzma Fatima author of “War of different emotions’’ who narrated her journey as a local woman and the need to breakdown the gender stereotype. She also shared stories of localwomen getting empowered and how they overcame obstacles to achieve their goals.
There were several other speakers at the event, including social worker, social activist and women Army officer. Miss Shafqat from District Welfare Centre, Baramulla highlighted the various government schemes that are available to help the girls to achieve their dreams. Captain Anjali, a Dagger Warrior, enlightened the audience on various job avenues for girls in the Indian army and schemes run for the girls in the valley.
The event also included a well-choreographed skit demonstrated by Chinar Naujawaan club highlighting the importance of women empowerment which was very well appreciated. The zeal and enthusiasm shown by all the participants was striking. They had the opportunity to clear all their queries and an opportunity to interact with Chief Guest and speakers. The event culminated with distribution of gifts for the attendees, token of refreshment and group photograph.
Through this event, Dagger Division has reiterated its dedication and commitment towards Women Empowerment, fostering environments where women’s voices are amplified, and their potential fully realized. By creating a platform that empowers women to step into their professional futures with confidence, Indian Army aims to drive positive change not only for individual women but for society as a whole.
