Police arrests two persons in Baramulla carrying banned Forest Herbs
Srinagar: Police in Baramulla arrested two persons and recovered illegally procured banned forest herbs (Sheetkhar) from their possession, a police spokesman said Thursday.
He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Drung Tangmarg, intercepted two persons who on noticing police party tried to flee but were apprehended tactfully. They have been identified as Zubair Ahmad Malik son of Abdul Majeed Malik resident of Mashkhud and Adil Ahmad Khan son of Ghulam Mohammad Khan resident of Ganiwani. During search, officers recovered 13 Kgs of Banned Forest Herbs (Sheetkhar) from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Tangmarg and investigations have been initiated, he added.
