Police arrests drug peddler in Anantnag
Srinagar: Police arrested a drug peddler in Anantnag and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said Monday.
He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Brackpora Anantnag intercepted a vehicle (Tata Mobile) bearing registration number JK21B-0743 driven by Sham Lal son of Bahadur Ram resident of Saror Jammu. During search, 25.770 Kgs of Poppy Straw like substance was recovered from the said vehicle. He has been arrested and shifted to PS where he remains in custody. Vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Anantnag and investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added.
