Railway: Problems to be assessed imperatively

Letter to the Editor

Dear Sir,

The Indian rail services have been introducing trains to manage with the soaring demand, but it suffers from geriatric structure and poor conservation factors frequently cited as the cause of accidents.

It has been reported that there is a increase in train accidents across the rail network this year compared to last year. The railway board emphasizes frequently the deficit of force and flagged the problem of trespassed locomotive aviators.

The recent rail accident has brought under scrutiny the union government’s policy of accelerating privatisation of rail services and operations, assessing a snap on reclamation in vacant posts and its focus on running super speed and gaudy modernized trains for the rich classes.
