Police destroys poppy cultivation in Baramulla
Srinagar: Police in Baramulla alongwith civil authorities destroyed poppy cultivation spread on vast area of land, a police spokesman said Saturday.
He said that acting on a specific information police at Khamindarpora, Zaspora and Pazalpora areas of Tangmarg destroyed poppy cultivation spread over manay acres of land.
A police party police alongwith Executive Magistrate of Revenue department, Excise Department and Agriculture department under the overall supervision of SDPO Tangmarg, reached the spots and destroyed the illegally cultivated Poppy spread over nearly about 3.5 Kanals of land.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Tangmarg and further investigations have been initiated, the spokesman said.
