Pulwama:- The residents of Saimoh area in Tral sub division of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district have demanded construction of a bridge over Watal Ara Nallah.

The residents of Saimoh area said that they are facing lot of problems in absence of road connectivity.

They said that elderly people, women and children are facing lot of problems in absence of the bridge.

Nasir Ahmad, a local resident, said that they are facing huge inconvenience especially in case of an emergency.

He said that around 25 years back the construction work on the bridge was started, however, after construction of bases on both sides, work was put on halt.

“Since last 25 years, every authority has been contacted but nothing has been done on ground,” he said.

“Government has spent lakhs in different works everywhere but have failed in constructing a concrete bridge here,”Mohammad Umar, another local said.

He said that a makeshift bridge has been constructed but it is very risk to cross the nallah over it.

Locals said that they have knocked on the doors of every government authority to get their issue redressed but to no avail.

Despite voting, taking part in every government programme, repeated assurances with us have proved hoax on ground, they said.

“We have high hopes on LG Manoj Sinha and Deputy Commissioner Pulwama that they will look into it and direct the concerned authorities to construct a bridge over the Nallah,” the locals added.
