Police solves burglary case in Baramulla, two held

Srinagar: Police in Baramulla solved a burglary case by arresting two accused persons involved in the crime besides, recovered stolen cash from their possession, a police spokesman said Saturday.

He said that on Thursday last police received a complaint from Abdul Majeed Reshi son of Asadullah Reshi resident of Kalantra Payeen Wagoora stating therein that some unknown burglars barged into his shop (JK Bank Khidmat Centre) when he had gone for lunch and stole cash amounting ₹97,000/- from the shop.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Kreeri and investigation was initiated.

During the course of investigation, officers with the help of technical and human resources, zeroed in on two persons identified as Ghulam Mustafa Sofi son of Mohammad Ibrahim Sofi and Shabir Ahmad Bhat son of Assadullah Bhat, both residents of Diver Yakhmanpora Pattan.

During questioning, both the accused persons confessed their involvement in the crime and on their disclosure, stolen cash was recovered. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody, the spokesman added.
