Police arrests four gamblers in Ganderbal
Srinagar: Acting tough against the social crimes, police in a series of actions have arrested four gamblers in Ganderbal and seized stake money from their possession, a police spokesman said.
Acting on specific information regarding gambling activities at Haripora, a police party raided the specific spot and arrested four gamblers. They have been identified as Hilal Ahmad Rather son of Ghulam Hassan resident of Haripora, Fayaz Ahmad Sheikh son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Dursoma, Mushtaq Ahmad Mir son of Ghulam Qadir resident of Banhama, Zahoor Ahmad Rather son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Haripora. Officers have seized stake money of ₹6,000/- and playing cards from their possession.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 147/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Ganderbal and investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added.
