Dagger Division helps start Baramulla Cycling Club

Baramulla: As part of ‘Go Green Initiative’, and a preamble to World Environment Day, Dagger Division took on the onerous initiative to inaugurate ‘Baramulla Cycling Club’ to proliferate healthier lifestyle.
The club was inaugurated by Major General Rajesh Sethi, SM, VSM, GOC Dagger Division at the premises of Chinar NauJawan Club – a reputed skill development centre of Baramulla. To encourage the local talent, ace Kashmiri Cyclist Adnan Bashir who was the winner of Ride Kashmir Cycle Rally 2022 edition, was felicitated on this occasion.
He has not only made his mark in National Championships but also excelled in Stair climbing World Championship 2022. The master cyclist was gifted with a professional cycle. Soon after the inauguration, 18 energetic cyclists hit the road of Baramulla thus spreading the word of a pollution free environment.
The rally cycled up to Eco Park and planned for greater distances in days to come. Such noble and thoughtful initiative by the Indian Army is ought to change the very outlook of Kashmir, wherein the women and youth will depend more on cycles and green energy for a better tomorrow.
