Cheerpora-Chattergul road in dilapidated condition, locals demand macadamisation
Anantnag: The residents of Cheerpora area in Chattergul area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district have demanded macadmisation on vital Chattergul-Cheerpora road, saying the road link is lying in a dilapidated condition.
The residents of the area said that road hasn’t been macadamised since many years due to which locals are facing huge inconvenience.
Abdl Rashid, a local resident said that the vital road is connecting many places but hasn’t been macadamised ever giving tough time to locals and commuters.
He said that government must look into the issue as this road is connecting a vast area with the rest of the district.
Irshad Khan, another local said that school going children and patients have to suffer due to the bad condition of the road.
He said that accidents are taking place almost everyday on the road due to it turning almost non-motorable.
The locals said that this road hasn’t been macadamised for many years and the area has been neglected on the developmental front.
Despite bringing this issue in notice of higher ups several times nothing has been done on so far, they said.
They requested the district administration to look into the matter at an earliest and macadamise the road so that any untoward incident can be avoided.
