Police arrests drug peddler in Handwara
Srinagar: Police arrested a drug peddler in Handwara and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said Sunday.
He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Market Qalamabad, intercepted a suspicious person who tried to flee from the spot after noticing police party but was apprehended tactfully. He has been identified as Asif Ahmad War son of Ghulam Ahmad resident of Audoora Qalamabad. During search, around 60 grams of Charas was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Qalamabad and investigation has been initiated, he added.
