Police destroys Poppy cultivation in Baramulla
Srinagar: Police destroyed poppy cultivation spread over vast areas of land in Goshbugh and Delina areas of Baramulla after receiving information regarding illegal cultivation of Poppy (opium plant) in these areas, a police spokesman said Saturday.
He said that a police party reached the spot at Goshbugh and destroyed the illegally cultivated Poppy spread over nearly about 1 ½ Kanals of land. Similarly, another police party of Police Post Delina led by Incharge PP Delina alongwith Magistrate reached the spot at Delina and destroyed the illegally cultivated Poppy spread over nearly about ½ Kanal of land.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and further investigations have been initiated, the spokesman added.
