The residents of Babdar village in Dooru Zone said that primary school was established in village in 1981 and it was upgrade to a Middle level School in 2010.

They said that school is functioning from a dilapidated four roomed building due to which teachers and the students enrolled here are facing huge difficulties.

Nadeem Ahmad, a local resident said that the building is lying in decaying condition as walls have developed cracks and they can collapse any time.

“The administration is putting lives of seven teachers and around 50 students enrolled there at risk as the building can collapse any time,” he said

The locals claimed that they have informed the higher ups in the education as well as local administration here several times, however no steps have been taken to at least conduct safety audit of the building.

They said that if any untoward incident will happen, the administration will be held responsible for that.

The locals demanded that government must identify land and construct a new building for the school and on temporary basis they must shift school to a safer place.

The local residents also requested DC Anantnag to personally intervene into the matter and direct the concerned department to take immediate steps in this regard.
