Khrew, Bijbehara residents seek reversal of transfer orders of doctors
Srinagar: The residents of Khrew area in Pampore hamlet of Pulwama district and K-Kalan Srigufwara area in Bijbehara hamlet of Anantnag district have demanded reconsideration of transfer orders of doctors posted in their areas
The residents of Khrew said that Dr Ishtiyak Qadir, a child specialist was performing his duties in Khrew and Pampore very well and hardly any child was being taken to any other hospital in the area.
People of the whole Pampore area will suffer with his transfer, they claimed.
Sajad Ahmad, a resident of Khrew who is also member of People’s Welfare Trust Khrew said that Dr Ishtiyak has been performing his duties and was catering to the entire population of the area.
“It is very unfortunate that doctors who perform well and give patients a sigh of relief are being transferred while no action is being against the dead wood,” he said.
Similarly, the residents of K Kalan said that Dr Rashid was performing his duties and used to remain available for patients round the clock.
They said his presence at the PHC lead to development of hospital and many new things and facilities were ensured for the patients due to his efforts.
Nazir Ahmad, a local resident said that Dr Rashid receives call of any patient even during the dead of night and he remains available for patients always.
“We have seen several doctors but the way he is performing duties at the hospital, no one showed such dedication,” he said.
Locals from both the areas requested the higher ups to reconsider the decision of their transfer for public welfare.
Meanwhile, an official of the health department said that they have received demands from these areas about reconsideration of transfer decision and accordingly demands have been forwarded to higher ups.
“It is upto the higher authorities to take any decision in this regard,” he said.
