Dear Sir,
The death of Parkash Singh Badal, former Punjab Chief Minister and veteran Akali Dal leader, is a great loss not only to Punjab but also to the nation.
Parkash Singh Badal was one of the most prominent political figures since the country’s independence. Though his distinguished public service career was largely limited to Punjab, he was well-regarded throughout the country. His death has left a void.
He was a towering figure in Indian politics and a remarkable statesman who made significant contributions to our country. He worked tirelessly for the advancement of Punjab and helped the state through difficult times. The central government’s announcement of two days of state mourning across India to pay tribute to the veteran politician is a thoughtful gesture.
Further he deserves Bharat Ratna posthumously.
