Zradihad Tral residents demand basic amenities in the area
Pulwama: The residents of Zradihad village in Tral hamlet of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district have demanded basic facilities in the area.
Residents of the area have alleged that tall claims of Jal Shakti Department are getting punctured here as authorities have failed in providing drinking water facility to the area.
They said that the pipeline supplying potable water was removed in the area to construct a road but since then years have passed but nothing is being done to reinstall the pipeline.
The locals have been raising voice against the authorities for ‘failing to install water pipelines again to supply water to the village’.
The inhabitants said that the village is without drinking water facility as no water pipeline has been installed here since years, thus leaving the entire population to consume contaminated water.
Irshad Khan, a local resident said that they are forced to drink contaminated water as there is no other option available with them.
“We have to trek for kilometres to fetch drinking water and it takes our women folk hours together to fetch the water,” he said.
Locals said that besides water crisis, unscheduled power cuts are prevalent in the area and there is no proper road connectivity to the area.
They further said that they approached the concerned authorities several times for want of basic facilities to the village but to no avail.
They said that construction work on road is going on at snail’s pace and authorities must take cognizance.
The locals have now urged the concerned authorities to look into the issues and provide basic facilities to the area so that people could heave a sigh of relief.
