PMC for Silk Samagra-2 under HADP Sericulture at Srinagar
SRINAGAR: UT Level Project Monitoring Committee (PMC) meeting of Sericulture Development Department J&K, which is the apex committee for approval of projects under Silk Samagra-2, was held Wednesday at Directorate of Sericulture Tulsi Bagh Srinagar.
Director General Sericulture, Manzoor Ahmad Quadri chaired the meeting of PMC.
The meeting was also attended by the Director Central Sericultural Research & Training Institute, Central Silk Board (CSB), Pampore, Additional Directors of Sericulture Jammu/Kashmir, Astt. Secretary (Tech.) Regional Office, CSB, Ministry of Textiles New Delhi and Senior Officers of Sericulture Dev. Deptt. & Central Silk Board.
The held detailed discussion and approved the action plans of Silk Samagra-2 for the year 2023-24, 2024-25& 2025-26 for upliftment of farming community associated with sericulture through Holistic Agriculture Development programme of the Govt. for the Sericulture Sector.
Component wise budgetary allocations of 40 crore kept in the plan were discussed and reviewed for development of the industry and Important decisions pertaining to the implementation of the project were taken.
It was informed in the meeting that HADP for Sericulture is going to benefit 5157 silkworm rearers across the UT which will improve their source of livelihood through Sericulture.
The members from CSB headquarter Bengaluru attended the meeting in virtual mode and finally the plan was approved in principle by the committee and recommended it for arrangement of funds from Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles Govt.of India.
