Food Safety Department intensifies Market Checking across Budgam

BUDGAM: A market checking squad led by Assistant Commissioner Food Safety, Yameen Ul Nabi who is also Designated Officer, FSSA Budgam has been from last one week on daily basis conducting rigorous market checking of various restaurants, fast food outlets, tea stalls and ethnic street food makers in the district.

During inspection, Food Safety Department imposed Rs 30000 as fine on 27 erring food business operators under various provisions of Food Safety Regulations 2011 for running businesses in insanitary conditions.

On the occasion, the team cautioned erring food business operators not to indulge in violations of food safety regulations and insanitary conditions which are against public health failing which a hefty compound will be imposed upon them in future.

The Assistant Commissioner Food Safety Budgam stressed on sale of safe and quality food items. He said that the drive is being carried out to ensure all Food Safety Standards are practiced in letter and spirit, and such drives will continue across Budgam in future as well.
