Seek attention of authorities

Shopian: The residents of Zampathri area in Keller hamlet of south Kashmir’s Shopian decried the dilapidated condition of a road stretch from Zampathri to Tragpathri.

The residents said the dilapidated condition of road was causing inconvenience to them and commuters.

The residents said the road connecting Tragpathri with rest of the district was macadamised in December 2021 on trail basis with some chemical but it didn’t last for even six months.

“Minor link roads are being macadamised everywhere but due to unknown reasons the Zampathri road which connects over 400 households has been left unattended,” Basharat Ahmad, a local resident said.

Ishfaq Ahmad Sheikh, another local said the school going children and patients are the worst sufferers because of the dilapidated condition of the road.

The government has already announced to bring Zampathri on tourist map but government must provide basic facilities in the area.

He said the locals visited the concerned offices several times to put forth the demand but nothing was done on ground so far.

The locals said the road has developed big potholes which gives tough time to patients and elderly people who commute via this road.

The residents urged the concerned authorities to look into the matter and macadamise the road to end the woes of the people of the area.
