More than 25 shops sealed for non-payment of rent in Sopore
Sopore: Authorities in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday sealed at least 25 shops for non-payment of rent.
An official said that at least 25 shops were sealed over non-payment of rent towards Municipal Council (MC) for the last several years.
He said that the shops area situated near Iqbal Park.
“They were already informed through notices from time to time, however, they failed to pay the rent, which led to sealing of these shops,” he added.
“In coming days more shops will be sealed as MC Sopore is going to act against those who are not paying rent on time,” the MC officials said.
He said that legal action would be taken against those shopkeepers who fail to pay rent on time.
