Kidnapped minor girl recovered within hours in Pulwama, 3 arrested: Police
Srinagar: Police in Pulwama have recovered a kidnapped minor girl and arrested three accused persons involved in the commission of crime, a police spokesman said on Monday.
He said that Police Station (PS) Rajpora received a written complaint from a resident of Sonabanjer Khaigam on January 29 that his daughter aged about 15years was kidnapped by three persons.
“The complainant identified the kidnappers as Sharief Ahmad Awan son of Mohammad Ismail Awan, Sajad Ahmad Awan, Javaid Ahmad Awan, both sons of Sharif Ahmad Awan, all residents of Pahlipora Keller,” the spokesman said
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 07/23 under relevant sections of law was registered in PS Rajpora and investigation was initiated, he said.
“During the course of investigation, a special Police team was constituted to trace out the kidnapped girl. The investigating team raided various suspected locations and recovered the kidnapped girl from village Hergam Keller area of Shopian within hours after the complaint was registered,” the spokesman said
He further said that all the accused persons involved in the commission of crime have been arrested.
“After fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs,” he said.
