Pulwama: The residents of Khankah village in Awantipora hamlet of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district are up in arms against the administration for neglecting the area over the past years.

The residents said the area sans proper link road connectivity despite being close to Jammu-Srinagar National highway.

They said the interior roads of the area were in dilapidated conditions, making it difficult to drive on the roads at the time of medical emergencies.

They said the water pipes in the area were laid around 10 years ago but all the pipes are without water supply.

“There are dozens of households in the area who don’t have any access to drinking water facilities,” said Ghulam Hassan, a local resident.

He said that a play field was sanctioned for the area years ago which is nowhere in sight, leaving local players dejected.

“We have brought these issues into the notice of higher ups several times but to no avail,” the locals said.

The locals urged the concerned authorities to look into the matter at an earliest so that they can heave a sigh of relief.
