Srinagar: The five-day long winter sports and youth festival-2023 organised by Budgam police culminated on Friday at Indoor Stadium Budgam.

Earlier SSP Budgam Tahir Gilani inaugurated the event on January 16 under Police Civic Action Programme which was made up of three different sports championships including Badminton, Taekwondo and volleyball including painting competition.

On the occasion, ASP Budgam Gowhar Ahmd presented Momentos and cash prizes among the winners, runners-up besides participation certificates were given to all participants.

The event was also attended by DySP DAR DPL Budgam Owaise Rashid, DySP(P) Faisal Rishoo, DySP(P) Mubashir Zargar, DySP (P) Anjana, SHO Budgam and other police officers were also present on the occasion.

In the Badminton championship Seerat Jan and Marifat Jan (runner ups) were awarded with momentos and cash prize of Rs 2000 while Rabiya and Samiya (winners) were awarded with momentos and cash prize of ₹3000 in women’s doubles.

In Men’s doubles Runner up, Shuja and Zahoor were awarded with momentos and cash prize of Rs 2000 while Waseem and Mohsin were awarded with momentos and cash prize of Rs 3000 as winners.

In women’s single Runner up, Samiya was awarded with memento and cash prize of Rs 2000 while in winning women’s single category Rabiya was awarded with memento and cash prize of Rs 3000.

In Mens’ single Runner up, Momin and zahoor were awarded with momentos and cash prize of Rs 2000 while in Men’s single winning category, Waseem Akram was awarded with memento and cash prize of Rs 3000.

In the Painting Competition age group 8-14 years, Mujtaba Hussain secured first position with cash prize of Rs 3000, Sadiya Altaf secured 2nd position with cash prize of Rs 2000, Muntazir Hussain secured 3rd position with cash prize of Rs 1000.

In the age group 14-18 years, Mannat Mushtaq secured first position with cash prize of Rs 3000, Tamana Bilal secured 2nd position with cash prize of Rs 2000, Mehrun Nissa secured 3rd position with cash prize of Rs 1000.

In Taekwondo, Azad Beigh attained best fighter Male category with cash prize of Rs 2500 and Arifa Zehra attained best Fighter female category with cash prize of Rs 2500, Besides Taekwondo Academy Kawoosa secured Ist position, BilluTaekwondo Academy Narkara secured 2nd position.

ASP Budgam also presented momentos to Badminton, taekwondo referees, coaches and Judges of painting competition.
