Illicit timber seized in Rafiabad, accused arrested: Police
SOPORE: Police on Tuesday claimed to have seized illicit timber and arrested the accused spot as well.
The police spokesman said the police station Panzla Rafiabad received information that some smugglers had laden timber upon horses and were smuggling it to other places.
“Sopore police established a special Naka at Takiya Panzla and arrested one smuggler along with horses carrying illicit timber in the shape of logs for illicit trade transporting to other locations of Sopore,” the police spokesman said.
The spokesman said the arrested person has been identified as Abdul Majeed Chopan son of Abdul Aziz resident of Sain Satrena Rafiabad.
“Consequent upon this Case FIR number 70/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Panzla and further investigation have been taken as well,” he said.
