The residents demanded augmentation of the 63 KVA transformer to 100 KVA transformer in the area.

“The existing 63 KVA transformer often develops technical snags due to which inhabitants have to face long duration power cuts,” the locals said.

The locals said the transformer developed technical snag frequently in the last few weeks due to which the area was reeling under darkness.

Shabir Ahmad, a local resident, said the  government has been increasing fees as per their will but has failed to upgrade infrastructure in their locality.

“Our transformer developed snag five times in the last two months,” he said.

Locals said that they brought the issue to the notice of concerned higher officials but to no avail.

The locals said they have to travel around 25 kilometers to get their transformer repaired.

“The PDD employees at Gagran Workshop are demanding 80000 for providing them a 100 KVA transformer in place of 63 KVA,” the locals alleged.
