IED detected, defused in north Kashmir’s Sopore
Sopore: A Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) on Tuesday diffused an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) which was planted at Kupwara bypass road at Sopore.
An official said that a Joint team of J&K Police along with Army’s 52 Rashtriya Rifles and CRPF detected an IED in Tulibal area of Sopore on Sopore-Kupwara bypass road early Tuesday.
“Soon after the detection of the IED, traffic was halted and the movement of people was restricted,” the official said.
He said a BDS was rushed to spot and destroyed the IED without causing any harm.
Meanwhile, the official said a case in this regard has been registered and investigation has been started as well.
