PIAs hold Job Fairs under HIMAYAT Mission

SRINAGAR/ JAMMU: The Project Implementation Agencies (PIAs) on Monday organised two job fairs under Himayat Mission Management Unit (HMMU) one each in Jammu and Anantnag.

A total of 70 candidates in Jammu and 103 candidates in Anantnag trained under Himayat Programme took part in these Job Fairs.

Representatives of 15 Companies participated in the event including Airtel, SBI Card, La Pinoz Pizza, Pizza Milano (Anantnag) Dominos, V-mart, employers from Hospitality Sector and Telecom like Khyber Resorts and SPA, Radisson (Pahalgam), Tenon FM outsource, Hotel Hill Top (Gulmarg/Pahalgam), Ecom Express, The Chinar and others.

Himayat DDUGKY is a flagship skill development cum placement program of the Union Ministry of Rural Development. The scheme is being implemented in Private-Public –Partnership (PPP) mode by Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs) empaneled with the Union Ministry of Rural Development.

The objective of the program is to impart skill training and employment to unemployed youth of J&K.

The Job Fair at Jammu was inaugurated by Sajad Chowdhary, State Project Manager, HIMAYAT and at Anantnag the event was inaugurated by Javed Iqbal, Principal, Government Polytechnic, Larkipora.

While speaking on the occasion, they appreciated the employers present on the occasion for providing employment opportunities to the youth.

They also urged upon them to engage maximum number of Himayat trained candidates in future recruitment drives in their respective agencies and the companies.

They added that these types of job fairs provide an opportunity to the trained candidates from all streams to access various career options.

State Project Manager, HIMAYAT, congratulated all the shortlisted candidates and encouraged them to take placement opportunities outside the state of Jammu & Kashmir as well.

Speaking on the occasion of the Job Fair at Anantnag, Adil Ashraf Tanki, State Project Manager, HIMAYAT, expressed gratitude to all the employers for their contribution in supplementing the efforts of Himayat Mission Management Unit in regard to providing employment opportunities to youth.

On the occasion, employers were felicitated with mementos.

Besides, the events were also attended by the representative from the Department of Employment, Municipal Corporation, Jammu, Sarpanch, Lukbhawan (PRI member) State Project Managers (Himayat), Project Officers (NIRD&PR), District Programme Manager IBCB and Livelihoods, UMEED JKRLM and representatives of various Project Implementing Agencies.
